Motorcycle Accidents

Riding a motorcycle can be dangerous, largely because of the unpredictable and often bizarre actions of other drivers who share the road with motorcyclists. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, (NHTSA) released a report in 2007 which showed that motorcycle accidents contributed to more than 5,000 deaths and over 100,000 injuries in the United States. Statistically speaking, cyclists are three times more likely to be killed in a car accident, than the driver of the automobile.

Motorcyclists are at a disadvantage when an accident with a car or truck occurs. There is nothing between the rider and the road except for the clothes he or she is wearing, and maybe a helmet. Their injuries can be devastating. Motorcyclists are vulnerable to traumatic brain injuries (TBI) which affects speech, cognitive thinking, and motor skills. Spinal cord injury, fractures, and severe and disfiguring road rash and burns are often associated with motorcycle accidents.

In addition, a motorcycle accident may be caused by the motorcycle being defective or by road hazards. Poor design, faulty production and/or defective parts may cause riders to lose control of their bikes, putting them at great risk for serious injury or even death. In addition, improperly maintained roads, construction areas, unmarked roads and slippery roads contribute to the dangers that motorcyclists face on an ongoing basis.

We represent victims of serious motorcycle and motor scooter injuries, including fractures, severe and disfiguring road rash and burns, spinal cord injury, head or brain injury, and other catastrophic injuries. We investigate the accident scene, take photographs, interview witnesses, reconstruct the conditions that led to the accident, and employ engineers and medical experts, if needed, to obtain the maximum compensation for victims. We can come to your home or hospital, including evenings and weekends, or meet you at our Coral Springs, Florida office.
